It's been hard work getting better and I'm still not there.
My legs still are the size of tree trunks (and they look like them too). The doctor decided today that the diuretics weren't doing any good so we agreed to stop taking them. Instead I'm too wrap my feet and legs in compression bandages and see how that works. (Chris - I think you suggested that???).
I'm also needing oxygen regularly. That's something I haven't shared here before. I started using oxygen at night about 5 weeks ago. Now I've started needing oxygen day and night all the time. The oxygen helps so much with sleeep and daily activities.
and finally, the other tough thing is that we're losing our nanny. :( She's heading back to school in January and giving it another shot. I'm happy for her but sad for us. We now need to find another nanny - and soon!!
That's all for now. Sorry it's such a short one but Kurtis just came home from scool and I've got to help getting snacks!

hey Annette. Thanks so much for the update. Sorry about the legs ... sorry about the oxygen (but glad it's helping) ... and sorry about the nanny. I think about you every day. If I find Mary Poppins, I will send her your way!
much love,
LBF
Hi Annette, sorry you're having such a tough time. I hope you find another nanny soon. I know that must make a huge difference to the quality of time you can spend with your kids. You're always in my thoughts and I pray for your increased strength.
Annette,
I love you honey and will be praying for thinner legs and a great Nanny! :) Nicole
Hi Annette, Long time no talk, but you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I noticed your birthday too, on the calendar -- I wish I had thought to post a greeting. However, I will continue to pray for you. I skimmed some of your recent posts and loved the superman photos! I also could really empathize with your description of Kurtis racing. Dean and I have coached our kids' school's cross country team for the past few years, and I always feel weepy when I watch the runners cross the finish line - even if they're not my kids.
Love, Marlene
Sorry things are so tough right now... we are praying for you...(thanks so much for the photo in the mail... it's beautiful)Jen & John
Annette.....I know you know this, but you are constantly on my mind. I so wish I lived closer to give you a hand. I will pray that a wonderful and helpful nanny will come your way quickly. I can imagine how bittersweet it is loosing your Nanny...it is exciting for her to venturing back to her studies, but sad that she has to leave you all.
Also, while it is a difficult thought to think that you are needing oxygen more often, it is so wonderful that it helps with your sleep and your energy.
As for you legs.....ugh. I hope that the compresses work. I have no clue about what could help, but will pray that the compresses and time will do their magic!
It is snowing here right now lightly......I will take a picture and share it with you.
All of my love and prayers....

Hey GF- So sorry the tree trunks remain and the nanny is leaving. Sheesh. do you have respite available in Canada to help at least with your bundle of energy cutie pie Ryan after school?
Hugs and am making you something right now that I think will make you smile I will send via email. If you approve I will put a link here! hee hee
Thinking of you Annette! I'm so sorry about the Nanny situation - it sounded like she was turning out to be very good. Praying that you can find someone else that will be great with Ryan and Kurtis and that you are feeling better soon! It's hard to be down when you're the mom!
Keeping you in our prayers and sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way!
Love you!
I am glad you are home. I hope you get better soon, and I hope you find a great nanny quickly, too.
Hi Annette. I will be praying for Mary Poppins to land on your doorstep too. But really, I will keep me ears open & ask around if anybody knows of a suitable person in your area. You never know...
Thank you so much for the Christmas card. It was my first one, and it meant alot to me. I loved seeing that great shot of you & the family at Disney. You have a beautiful family.
Take care of yourself, and let me know if your up for a visit over the Christmas holidays.
Love, Anjie
Annette, I am sorry about those legs. That is a miserable situation. I sure hope the stockings are helping. Can the docs consult with someone about it? No good. And the oxegen, I know that can really feel good, so I am glad it is helping. Sorry about the Nanny, hope another pops over your way. Love ya!
Annetteb - thank you for taking the time to update us!!!! I am sorry to hear about losing the nanny - I know what a tremendous help she must have been for you. I hope you are able to find a replacement quickly... Also, sorry to hear about your legs - my brother who has MS has the same problem right now, so I will see if he has any suggestions. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers as always and send lots of love and hugs and strength your way! Hang in there girl - you are amazing!!!!

Good morning, Annette
I don't know when you'll get to read this today...but it doesn't matter..because prayer crosses blogging and email boundaries. Remember the words from Jeremiah
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future;
In our humanity, these words might seem harsh; May the God of all hope give you His peace today and always

Annette, we love you so much, you are such a dear friend. You have helped me so much with Jennifer's speech, when I was so afraid you helped me through it. You were so kind to send me information about it. I loved our chats on the phone over the years, they are precious to me as are you. You were always there for me when I battled cancer, you helped me so much. I adored seeing you this past summer in Indianapolis and the year before in Atlanta, it was great! I am just thinking about you and wanted you to know how much we love you!
Kris and Jennifer
You and your family continue to be in my prayers...
My dearest, darling Annette......you have always been such a ray of sunshine to me, and my heart is heavy knowing that you are fighting so hard right now. Know we love you dearly.......
Many prayers coming from us. We love you dear friend.
Sending hugs and prayers your way
