Very late with this, but better late than never, right?

Down Syndrome Awareness Day (DSAD) was on March 21. I was cleaning out my "favourites" and came across this site that has videos from DSAD 2006. Enjoy.

Thanks for the fabulous link! I really enjoyed seeing the variety of cultures and age groups. Took me a bit to figure out I could switch to English, but hey. I was reminded of two other people with Down Syndrome. One was a young man at the funeral of my cousin, Stephanie, who had Rett Syndrome. This young man lived with Stephanie at a group home for people with disabilities, and while we all stood stoically at the graveside, he expressed his profound grief, sobbing on the shoulder of his support worker. After expressing his grief, he straightened his shoulders and said "I'm ok,now - I'm ok." I felt that he had given me a gift.

A second person is a young girl who dances with joy at the same dance studio as my kids do. I love this dance studio, because it has dancers of all shapes and sizes, and all abilities, all dancing together. This is the way the world should be.
