Ramblings from the hospital..

I got in on Thursday so I'm on day 2 of 3 day chemo. It's going slightly better than last time but still struggling with minimizing the yucky side effects.

Thank you to all my friends and family.. your love and support has been overwhelming and I want you to know how much I appreciate it. To those of you who send cards and emails, to my friends who visited me today even though I wasn't great company, to those of you making special foods for my special diet, to my sister who comes up to help me shop and comes to visit,, to my parents who are always praying for me..THANK YOU. And mostly thank you to my amazing husband - I LOVE YOU!

Hair - it's gone... totally absolutely gone. I got it shaved off on Wednesday night as it was getting very thin. Kurtis says I look like a boy and Ryan still won't come near me unless I have a scarf on.. I asked Ryan to give me a kiss and a hug and he says "noooo". I ask him where my hair is and he points to the ground and then makes a throwing action with his hand. I say "yes, it fell to the ground, didn't it" and then he signs "silly". He'll get used to it shortly I'm sure. It is a bit of a different look though! I don't think I'm quite brave enough to go out in public like this. On the plus side, I have a great new wig that I really like - me, the one who said she probably wouldn't get a wig, may now just wear it more often than not! It's strawberry blonde and the style is fairly similar to what I had just before I lost it. Scarves have been rather hard to find - at least ones that are stylish and don't make me look like a scullery maid! LOL

Annette, I am thinking and praying for you! Too funny about Ryan! LOL! I bet you look beautiful without hair...for you know, true beauty comes from within..hair is only an accessory. I hope your time in the hospital is easy and you get thru this treatment with ease. I wish I could come clean your house for you!!!!!!

Hello dear friend........I just posted for you below....and wanted to let you know that I'm here thinking about you. Ryan is just too precious and you are right, he will forget about the hairloss quickly, and before you know it, it will be back and he'll wonder what happened to his bald Momma!

Love you lots!

Keeping you in my prayers as you go through this round of chemo...praying that the yucky side effects go away soon! I bet it was a bit of a shock to Ryan wondering what happened to his mama! Sending you long distance hugs!

Annette,
Nothing but my strongest, most positive vibes coming your way as you go through this. You're much better company on a bad day than alot of people on their best day, so I'm not surprised your freinds continue to visit!

Take care,
Chris

HI Annette, I think I'm getting the hang of this 'blog' thing. (It's such a complicated affair, isn't it?!?!)Thanks for putting in your picture of Ryan. It reminded me of Mark. Opa put him in a cardboard box, put a rope on the front and pulled him around the house like that. Opa got his exercise and Mark laughed and laughed. Pampers box- they go the mile, let me tell you. Susan and I (remember Susan? came from Nova Scotia around the same time you came to visit)pray for you each time we go walking. We pray for strength, healing and courage as you go through these treatments. We pray for your family and friends who walk alongside you as you take this journey. I'm from a distance so it is different than close and personal.
Know that you are surrounded by love and prayer,
Alice
